Rain, rain, go away. (Videos Inside)

Tri-State Sports Car Council started there 2012 season with splash. There was torrential downpour causing the event to be cut short. The day started with some lovely weather, which was nice for people like me who were in the 1st/3rd run group as we actually got some dry runs in. It didn't start raining till my 3rd run, and I was about 9th car from last in the group of ~40+. Turns out, they didn't actually get my 3rd run in, so I could have gotten a re-run, but the conditions after the rain were terrible. On top of the standing water, the surface is relatively new, and very slick. So after Heat 1 we sat in the rain for over an hour. It was kind of funny having 5 people piled into my Subaru during the break. After the weather passed, Heat 2 was under way, and everyone was sliding all over the place; it was actually kind of comical. The track dried more and more with every run and by the end of Heat 2 the track was relatively drive, but it was already a little after 3pm, so the powers that be decided to call it. All in all, 1/2 day of AX is better than no AX.

Run 1:

This was would have been my fastest run had I not of DNF'd. I got lost at then end of the course (which you will see in the video) and missed a gate. I was surprised at how well I was navigating the course my first time out, until I got there, and all went to hell.

Run 2:

I was joined by a ride-a-long for my 2nd and 3rd run, Juan. He was running in a 2005 Evo later in the day, and it had been a while since his last AX. That, and it never hurts to take a ride along to get a feel for the course before attacking it yourself. Entering turn 2 I got a little too much rotation and had some fun spinning-out; all the while, avoiding all the pylons. The car kept wanting to get loose throughout the rest of the run. When I checked pressure/temp of my tires after the run my front tires had gone from 36psi to 40psi and were noticeably warmer. While the rears were still sitting at 36psi and were cool to the touch - gotta figure out what the cause/solution to that problem is. I dropped the pressure in the front back down to 36psi, but run 3 wasn't counted and was in the incipient phases of the downpour.
